The Muspilli Cat Family welcomes you cordially!

Come in and have a look at our site! Enjoy!

The "Muspilli" cattery was founded in the middle of the seventies. The name "Muspilli", refering to Germanic myths means something like "burning end of the world". Once upon a time there were some huge strong cats pulling the carriage of Goddess Freya. There were cats carrying fallen soldiers to the hot side beyond called "Muspelheim". These must have been some mighty and pretty muscular cats. Maybe the ancestors of our Chartreux and British Blue Cats?

As far as I can remember, I always and ever in my life loved cats, and as you see, I still do. For about fourty years now, I am living with my beloved big Blue Chartreux Cats, but my hobby cattery was not started before I met adequate requirements. What I'm especially breeding for is type, eye colour and the special "look" not too far away from the original type of Chartreux / Blue British. Nowadays names of some legendary Muspillis (Ch. Int Zapperlot von Muspilli, Ch. der DDR Vascodagama von Muspilli, Mr. X von Muspilli, Gr. Ch. d'Europe Ugu von Muspilli) are showing up on pedigrees of fine lines in Germany as well as in many countries near and far away.

1983, when Bryric Little Texas Bear crossed the Big Pond, Muspillis began "to fold". Scottish Folds and Scottish Straights combine well with the Big Blues as physically they are related and mentally they get along with each other in harmony. First principles of my cattery are health and beauty according to the standard. This also applies to my Selkirk Rex Cats. The first one of these thrilling curly lap cats that are still very rare is Lucy, born in France. She became member of the Muspilli cat family in 1995.

In addition to taking care of my cats I am in touch with cat friends in Germany, abroad and overseas, too. I am an active member of several clubs, now and then I write an article for a cat magazine. I'm the author of several cat books.

With my most beautiful cats I attend international cat shows. When my cats do well at show, this actually means to me an acknowledgement of their high bred standard.

Pleasure of living in company with cats is the essential base of my hobby. Therefore, there are not exclusively breeding cats residing my cattery. All the elderly purring Grandmas, Grandpas, uncles and aunties stay together with their beloved ones. Members of the Muspilli family lead their quiet lives peacefully getting old in their (my) home.
